On the east side of the Algarve, between Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António, you’ll find Cacela Velha Beach.

If you have never heard of this wonderful beach you should visit it on your next visit to Portugal. You can go by boat, it costs 1.5 € per person each way, or by foot only on low tide (a very funny experience).

Armona Island

To get there you must take the boat in Olhão where you can enjoy a 15-minute journey through Ria Formosa a natural protected reserve. After you arrive at the island you can choose which location suits you better, the sea or the estuary side.

Dona Ana Beach

For many years Dona Ana beach in Lagos was known as the best beach in the Algarve, and one of the best in the world ( won several awards ). Deserta Island

Known as “Desert Island”, this island is located in front of Faro city (a good choice for the first or last day of your stay in the Algarve ).
