Beaches

Stretching out to the eas of Lagos is the Meia Praia – this vast sandy beach goes on for kilometres, curving all the way to the Ria de Alvor. Surfers, kite surfers and winsurfers alike love the surf that you get here.

However in summer it does tend to become very windy in the afternoon. Directly alongside the harbor fort is where the beaches of the Ponta da Piedade begin from Praia Dona Ana (  award for on of the best beaches in the world! ) – a favorite and very busy because of its unique rocks to Praia do Camilo.

To the west of the Ponta da Piedade lies Porto Mós, a small bay surrounded by cliffs with a beautiful beach near to Luz. In Praia da Luz the beaches are wide and sandy and very popular. Beautiful, quiet beaches can be found further along the coast if you heard in the direction of Sagres from Burgau.
